About MacArthur Place Inn & Garden Spa
A short drive from renowned Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries, located on what was once a working ranch and vineyard, MacArthur Place Inn & Garden Spa is a 64-room hotel with a homey, somewhat rustic vibe. Some rooms are in the original residence, built in the 1850s; others are in clusters of newer, Victorian-style cottages surrounded by acres of striking gardens. The garden-themed spa offers regionally inspired treatments, some using flowers, herbs, or other ingredients grown on-site. The hotel also has a western-themed steakhouse, as well as a fitness center and swimming pool. Sonoma's main plaza, bordered by restaurants and quaint shops, is a short walk away.

The Garden Spa at MacArthur Place brings the property's focus on horticulture indoors. Its seven bright treatment rooms are each named after plants, flower-themed art and gardening tools hang on the walls, and some sinks are even made of flowerpots.
Signature treatments include bath, body scrub, and massage combinations, some centered on particular scents, such as rose, lavender, or citrus. The spa also offers wine-themed therapies, such as the Chardonnay or Red Wine Grapeseed Massage to hydrate the skin and improve overall circulation. For men, the Adam treatment begins with a eucalyptus body scrub, continues with a peppermint soak, and ends with a massage using rosemary-scented oil. Spa guests must be age 18 or older, and day spa clients are welcome.

Rooms & Dining
The renovated manor house contains nine guest rooms and one suite, and the remaining 54 accommodations are in 20 Victorian-style buildings located within the gardens. Most suites have wood-burning fireplaces and bathrooms with jetted tubs and rain showers. Garden Spa Suites also have private gardens with outdoor showers and shaded soaking tubs. Two one-bedroom cottages are available. All reservations include complimentary buffet breakfasts and nightly wine and cheese.
MacArthur Place's only restaurant is Saddles, a western-style steakhouse open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Pasta and vegetarian meals are available, and vegan diets can be accommodated. The wine list features mostly California labels, and the Saddles Martini Bar can stir up more than a dozen unique martinis.

Activities
Guests are encouraged to explore MacArthur Place's seven acres (three hectares) of manicured gardens, which have stone pathways, fountains, and original sculpture. There is also a fitness center offering personal training and a heated outdoor pool and whirlpool. Five minutes away by foot, Sonoma Plaza, a public park surrounded by restaurants and shops, frequently hosts fairs and markets. And the areas of Sonoma and Napa are of course known for their wineries, many of which offer tours, tastings, and educational seminars.
The Barn Conference Center, located in the original barn, includes a stylish boardroom, two meeting rooms, and a larger space for up to 125. The veranda and surrounding garden, popular for wedding ceremonies, can manage up to 100.
