The Huntington Hotel and Nob Hill Spa offers a welcoming atmosphere in the midst of San Francisco's upscale Nob Hill neighborhood. Originally constructed in 1924 as a high-end apartment building, the property houses 136 contemporary-style guestrooms and suites, as well as a Premier Spa Suite for groups of up to 10. The 11,000-square-foot (1,021 square meters) Nob Hill Spa features an indoor infinity-edge pool with floor-to-ceiling windows offering far-reaching views of downtown San Francisco, a fireside lounge, and steam and sauna rooms. The spa's extensive services reflect the four founding cultures of San Francisco - Chinese, Italian, Japanese, and Victorian - and include a variety of holistic and Ayurvedic treatments, as well as beauty and relaxation treatments influenced by diverse healing traditions. Signature offerings include the Nob Hill Spa Ultimate Massage and the Nob Hill Spa Ultimate Facial. Contemporary American spa cuisine is available poolside form the award-winning Big 4 restaurant.
The city's famous cable cars stop just outside the hotel entrance to transport guests throughout the area. In addition, complimentary chauffeur service is also available for guests whose itinerary includes the financial district or the well-known Union Square shopping district. The hotel is also in close proximity to some of the city's well-known landmarks such as the Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, and the Embarcadero.

The 11,000-square-foot (1,021 square meters) Nob Hill Spa was designed with the help of a feng shui expert who used ancient Asian principles to coordinate its look and overall atmosphere. Hotel guests enjoy complimentary use of spa amenities, which include sauna, eucalyptus steam room, whirlpool, and heated infinity pool. An open-air patio with plush lounge chairs provides the perfect locale in which to enjoy a light spa lunch (breakfast and dinner are also available).
A comprehensive selection of reasonably priced specialty treatments (using Babor, SkinCeuticals, and MD Skincare) is performed in ten comfortable treatment rooms. Signature Ancient Healing services based on the therapeutic traditions of Eastern cultures - such as Scen Tao, which combines plant extracts, heated stone application, and aromatherapy massage to regulate chi flow - complement a variety of rejuvenating bodywork modalities, anti-aging facials, and body treatments.
The Bamboo Tea Scrub, a popular full-body treatment, mimics the bathing rituals of ancient Japan by integrating green tea and bamboo exfoliation, a rice buff shower rinse with essences of wild cherry blossom, and concluding application of either wild lime silk oil or plum blossom silk cream moisturizer.
New to the spa menu is the Nourishing Seaweed Facial, an 80-minute detoxifying and purifying skincare treatment that combines a serum, cream, and two masks, all of which are infused with mineral-rich marine extracts.

Rooms & Dining
The Huntington Hotel's oversized guest rooms and suites reveal the property's origins as a luxury apartment building. The hotel's 136 accommodations feature contemporary amenities (high-speed internet hookup, etc.) alongside vintage furnishings such as antique desks and china cabinets. Each room and suite has its own design theme fashioned from the property's signature elements: leather, silk, damask, and velvet. Many boast spectacular city and bay views.
The Big 4 Restaurant is named for the four railroad tycoons (Leland Stanford, Charles Crocker, Collis P. Huntington, and Mark Hopkins) whose mansions dominated the Nob Hill landscape in the 19th century. This historically aware, club-like eatery aims for an atmosphere that would make these captains of industry feel at home. Known for its nightly wild game special--which offers adventurous carnivores the chance to sample alligator, ostrich, antelope, and others - the restaurant also offers light dishes more in line with the health-conscious traditions of California cuisine. The bull of fare features organic field greens with caramelized walnuts, pan-fried Dungeness crab cakes, and rosemary-crusted rack of Sonoma lamb, among many other options. A spa menu is also available for all three meals both in the spa and at the Big 4.

Activities
With its helpful concierge staff and convenient location, the Huntington Hotel offers guests numerous opportunities to step out of a spa robe and into the world-famous destinations of San Francisco. In the immediate vicinity, Grace Cathedral, the United States' third-largest Episcopalian church, conducts daily tours of its iconic structure, which includes a labyrinth, medieval furnishings, and 16-foot-high bronze doors modeled after those of the Duomo in Italy. Across the street from the hotel, Huntington Park is a popular spot for residents of nearby Chinatown to practice morning tai chi.
San Francisco's Chinatown district is known as the largest neighborhood devoted to Chinese culture outside of Asia. Here, traditional temples, bazaars, produce markets, clothing stores, and, of course, dozens of restaurants are frequented by locals and crowds of tourists alike. The shopping district of Union Square, located downhill from the hotel, encompasses theaters and art galleries in addition to upscale stores such as Tiffany, Armani, and Marc Jacobs.
A short car ride brings guests to the historic Fisherman's Wharf, the city's most popular tourist destination. For a stimulating walk along the water, try Marina Green, a long, lively stretch of grass with full views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
