  Sitting at the base of Southern California's Santa Rosa Mountains, Desert Med Aesthetics is located in the WellMax Center for Preventative Medicine in the Spanish-style La Quinta Resort & Club, which was founded in 1926 as a retreat for the rich and famous. The medical spa strives to provide state-of-the art skin care treatments in a beautiful, spa-like environment. Founded by Dr. Doriana Cosgrove, Desert Med Aesthetics’ approach is both diagnostic and therapeutic, focusing exclusively on each guest’s individual needs. Services are available for both men and women of all ages and skin types, such as DiamondTome microdermabrasion, Levulon® Kerastick photodynamic therapy, dermaplaning, medical facials, custom airbrush body bronzing and more. The spa carries SkinMedica® luxury skin care products and Colorescience Pro and La Bella Donna mineral cosmetics.

Surrounded by citrus and palm trees, Spa La Quinta has 40 indoor treatment rooms and a large, inviting space with garden-screened soaking tubs and massage tables, as well as an adobe fireplace, waterfalls and fountains, and shaded space for lounging.

The spa offers seven different soaks, including traditional milk and mud baths, and a variety of facials and massages, including tandem, shiatsu, and lomilomi. The signature Orange Blossom Body Facial, customized to clarify and hydrate the skin, includes a citrus body scrub and massage. Treatments for men include the PGA West Golflexology massage, which works on the neck, shoulders and back, as well as reflexology points on the hands and feet.

The spa also houses the Yamaguchi Salon, where aestheticians apply feng shui principles to hair and nail services. The Spa Bistro, offering spa cuisine is also nearby.

Doriana Cosgrove, M.D., owner and director, founded Desert Med Aesthetics in 2004 in order to integrate her knowledge of anesthesia and skin care procedures. She completed an internship in general surgery at University of Southern California and her residency in anesthesiology at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. She also practiced at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs for 16 years. Dr. Cosgrove is board-certified in anesthesiology and is also a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Lisa Amestoy is a registered nurse with many years of experience in plastic surgery, intensive and cardiac care. She performs chemical peels, dermabrasion, and many other skin rejuvenation procedures, in addition to being fully certified in Cutera Laser procedures.

Berenize Roberts is an esthetician with additional training in medical-grade peels and post-laser treatment skin care.
